For many collectors the 1907/10 Feldrock is the most desirable of WW1 jackets. As they are pre- or early war jackets they seldom lasted the duration of the war.
Leutnant d. Res August Weber was killed in action in 1915. The jacket pictured below was issued on mobilisation in 1914 and modified to include an officers collar. Presumably it stayed in a closet with the family, surviving the war in excellent condition.
Some collectors will consider the addition of the higher officers collar a bit of a spoiler, as the jacket is not "untouched", but for me the possibility of having a name to go with the jacket more than makes up for it.
The Jacket is stamped BAKVIII. It is worth noting that August Weber helped kit out the arriving reservists of the I.R. 69.
